Very soon, you can get your electricity from local, renewable sources. Mass Energy is currently sorting out details with NSTAR, and the program should launch in March, 2014.
New England GreenStart is a mix of 100% local green energy, including wind, solar, anaerobic digester gas, and low-impact hydro. It costs 2.4 cents/kwh in addition to regular electric charges.
New England Wind is100% Massachusetts wind power, and costs 3.8 cents/kwh in addtion to regular electric charges.
Either option will directly match the kilowatt hours you use on your monthly electric bill with clean, local renewable energy.
